About the event
Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, a Hungarian-American psychologist, showed how everyone from artists to assembly-line workers could be transported to a state of focused contentment by getting caught in the 'flow,' a term he coined and later popularized. Flow has been on people's minds, since the tide of disruptions in our personal norms. An older saying has been resurrected, 'Go With The Flow,' and seems to be the mantra. In addition, the natural form of encaustic medium is 'to flow', so is the act of creativity in any form of wax - hot or cold. It is a state of well-being when creating that we hope you will attain with your entries. There are no parameters to your expression, the guidelines are only that your artwork is current, be made from wax-based media, and relate to the theme. (See size restrictions in the entry instructions). JUROR: RUTH MAUDE The juror will make selections based on the quality of the work, how well the piece interprets the FLOW theme, and how well the work contributes to the overall cohesiveness of the exhibit.
